The Health Foundation launched its Women’s Giving Circle in May of 2014 to give women in our community the opportunity to come together, make new friends, and learn how to take care of themselves (instead of just taking care of everyone else).
Our first meeting, which included a program on success strategies with “Coach Chris” Jones, was a smash hit, and we didn’t stop there—our next meetings were about personal safety, heart health, and how to protect your skin year-round, not just in the hot summer months!
To check out some photos from these events, head over to our Facebook page @healthywilkes, and let us know if you want to come to the next one! The Women's Health Circle meets 3 or 4 times a year for fun, fellowship, and food, and we would love to see you!
Membership dues ($100) can be paid all at once, monthly, or quarterly, and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Once a year, the membership of the Circle will meet and consider local health initiatves, then vote to determine which projects to support. So far, the Circle has raised $5,400--that's a lot to be proud of, and would be an immense help to any health care agency in Wilkes!
